Engineering Careers:   A short overview of the main areas of engineering and careers in kid-friendly language.

Engineering Design Process:   Steps in the engineering design process clearly defined and correlated with national science standards.

Ready for Primary Time:  Adapting Engineering Activities for K-2 Classrooms:  Tips for adapting engineering activities from published curriculum, website, and other sources for primary classrooms.

Engineering Lessons for Elementary Classrooms:

1.  Introduction to Technology Lesson: With a collection of everyday technology (egg carton, nail clippers, coffee filter, etc.) and some discussion questions, students are introduced to the concept of engineering design.

2.  Building Bridges with the Billy Goats Gruff:  Design simple bridges with index cards and gram weights.  Apply concepts of primary mathematics as you explore the possible configurations of billy goats a particular bridge can hold.

3.  Oobleck, Slime and Playdough, Materials Engineering for Elementary Classroom: Set of lessons designed for primary classroom exploring properties of "play materials."  Students are challenged to write a story starring the strange properties of oobleck, create an ad for slime, and design quality tests for playdough.
